Ryan
Kwas is "working on it" We usually have to wait until the NHRA and IHRA schedules are out to avoid having a conflict with them. Then we need to talk to all five race tracks and see were they can fit us in to their schedules as well. I know that the MASCA has posted their schedule but ,they only go to two tracks and have eight races. Where as we (the MWSCS) go to five different tracks for 14-16 races. So it takes us a little longer. You can bet that I will post the 2012 MWSCS schedule as soon as it's finalized! Thanks for asking! ![]()

Then you'll be back to towing 4-8 hours to go to the NHRA/IHRA races which in the case of the NHRA represent 3-4 days and only one race.( Not to mention the poor payout) We have in the past gone to Earlville, Havanna, US 41, and Martin all of which we have not gone back to for various reasons. Ryan is an example of someone we may picked up on because we went to Earville. If you have some suggestions as to other ways to attract racers to give us a try I'm definitely interested.

Ryan
We all, as you stated "would prefer to only go to the 2 day races as it obviously makes more sense to hit 2 races with one tow if possible." That's why it's so fustrating when some tracks only want to give us one day races (last year we when to one on Saturday and another on Sunday) We each of us pay the race track for the use of their facilities at the gate and ask for nothing but a little track time and it difficult in some cases to understand why they don't want to take our money?. Were all about affordable fun racing with a fair payout and getting two chances to race in a weekend just make sense to us too.

One of the issues we're seeing is that a couple of tracks that have road/circle courses give those racers preference. They run in the rain, they don't require the same track prep, and I guess they make more money running them. It's a real issue for us finding weekends to run.

What we have been trying to do is illustrate the number of dollars we bring in and the minimal amount of track time we use. However one of the tracks is focused on scheduling Friday night and Saturday races which works well for the local racers but since most of our racers have to tow more than one hundred miles to get there and most of our guys are working stiffs Friday nights are not too popular. The track maintains that their car counts when they open on Sunday are significantly down from Friday night or Saturday.
The other track is primarily focused on supporting the NASCAR track across the street and it’s rumored that except for their national event weekend they wouldn’t even be open and that without intervention of the NHRA that they wouldn’t even have bracket program. Perhaps the revenues generated from normal weekly operations are considered insignificant when compared to the revenues generated by the NASCAR track. While I’m not sure this is true, it appears to be so. Fortunately we don’t have to share with the road or circle track racers but it’s understandable that if the track management makes more money that way, it is their focus. We have a long (more than 25 years) and positive history with three of the tracks within 100 miles of Chicago and we continue to seek out other tracks that can see the positive finical aspects of doing business with us. ![]()

I feel your pain, years ago when I helped with the North Central Super Gas Association we had some difficulties dealing with tracks. I don't know the particulars of what they make on a normal bracket weekend, but it must not be good if they are so reluctant to be open. I think that if some of these tracks did some marketing they might actually get a few spectators. (i.e. Norwalk) It seems like they just think they will open the gates and people will come running.
