Phillip, this is why I'm glad that Tucson just joined IHRA, and also why I'm looking forward to waking my car up from it's Div. 5 area slumber to go racing again. I'm planning on running that Rocky Mountain Race too (I hope they get Stock/Super Stock back into their show/).
Dion, that's the biggest thing to make me grin (other than S.I.R. voting in the IHRA this year)is that added 3 tenths bonus that we'll get...but I'll have to get a new letter pack due to DF/S being a stick class in IHRA! ![]()

I agree with you Dion, the scale the last time I was there was unusable and would affect any record setting and ensuring legal weights. If everything goes well I will as well be able to go to all five and if they have separate classes then I could as well run both.
The 3 tenths is nice as well as some more relaxed horsepowers as will as Fuel Injected classes which helps slow old cars like my 2. We will as well be holding the Thunder in The Valley race again this year on the same weekend. So this means 8 events within 8 hours for me which is 5 more than last year, much more affordable. They will bring their portable scales with them if needed. We use them at a lot of race tracks. Little more time consuming ,but it works.Hope you all enjoy IHRA out that way...and good luck to all..

Hey Dion, Did you ever get that trans/driveshaft issue figured out?
Now I just have to figure out what the H/P factor is for the Coronet and if it will get 1 carb or 2, LOL

driveshaft is all sorted, found a few ponies, car is currently all torn apart and getting reasssembled hopefully in time for Boise. I went and looked where the team transporter is parked and unless I can acquire the aid of a frontend loader I dont know when we can get the trailer out!......Damn snow drifts...we get chinooks here but snow drifts take forever to melt.

Hey Phillip,
I am sure the HP will be a lot less than the NHRA factor, mine is 5 HP less for the Low compression. I am sure if you post your combo that Danny could tell you what it is factored at. Keep in mind AA/SA is 7 pounds per HP not 7.5 so if you can make it light enough you should be able to fly. Is there anyone else from the West coast that will travel to Ashcroft? Dion it would be great if we could get at least the same number again at Thunder in The Valley, 16 cars was awesome and Carla the Kids and I had a lot of fun and will gladly do it again as we had some great help from Bob and Charlene with meals and car recruiting. As well as many others who offed help and support. Good luck with getting the trailer out, I feel your pain this winter does not seem to want to end! Darcy Clarke 6254 AA/SA, A/SA |
