They should be able to continue along that line with BB/FI, CC/FI, etc. since there are now a wider variety of those cars. Let's hope they do.
So the only cars that run in that new class are the DP cars and the New Mustangs?
No other or older cars in that class?
And also are the new cars limited to that class?
If so congrats to IHRA I hadn't seen that....

From the things I've seen lately IHRA seems to be much more supportive of sportsman racing than NHRA. One of the things holding them back is lack of contingency money. Even though I don't do this for the money it would be nice to get paid a little something when you win a race. Let sponsors know how you feel about this. It could make a difference. I think the lack of contingency has reallly depressed their car counts in the last couple of years.

One other thing we all can do is support our local combo races. For me it's Ohio Valley and Bowling Green. We need to be pro active and make sure there is more than one place for us to race.

We plan on being at OV in 2011 with the Pure Stocker and hopefully the C/M car as well.
Too bad BB won't allow IHRA cars tho.

Alan Bowling Green will allow IHRA cars like cm cars or pure stock. I think the confusion may be that cars that have an NHRA class must run that class with NHRA indexes and hp factors in Bowling Green. If you have a problem find me and we will go and talk to Clay.

Thanks Greg.
When I was there in August, the guy organizing the combo tech cards in the tower told me only IHRA cars that have an equivalent NHRA class, but must run NHRA indexes.
I really hope you are right about the CM and PS cars, because I would love to run at BB in the P/Stocker.

Mark, in the summer of 2009, IHRA created AA/FI.

7/29/09

Addition to Fuel Injection Classes: AA/FI and AA/FIA are added to the class structure for Stock Eliminator. The 2 classes are reserved for 2008 and later accepted factory muscle cars. No existing FI cars may remove weight and enter this class.

Class Break is 7.50 to 7.99. Class Index is 10.85 1/4 mile and 7.00 1/8 mile.

This was when there were only the 6.1 Hemi DP and the 425 hp blown CJ's. Now, with all the other engines available, maybe there will a BB, CC, DD, etc FI class.

We ran AA/FI at the 2009 IHRA Northern Nationals at Martin, Michigan. We were runner up in Stock. Here is a YouTube video posted by a spectator at the race.

With that many classes avoiding the chances of a heads up looks good.
