I am not versed that well on other brands, but I'm sure there are some Chevys and Fords that will be gone. Sorta like Barret Jackson selling more big block Corvettes than were made, like anybody knows. Now the Challenger Drag Pak on the other hand, ask Doug Duell for the title on his and where he got the car.
I bought back my 69 Super Bee Six Pack, so I have petitioned NHRA to hit the following cars 30 hp, all 396's that fit in C/SA, all 427, 428 or whatever Fords that fit in C/SA, All LT1's and LS1's (?) and any other car that fits in C/SA and can run over .7 under.
Since I put the flat hood and 4 bbl in the car on occasion, I have also petitioned them to hit the multitude of cars that fit in D, E, and F Stock (I think that comes to 132.6 cars) that run the same .7 under.
The model for this is the same as Education In American which is to dumb down the smart guys. I will have more as the day goes on for thought while I change a ball joint. Stay tuned.
Jeff. Finally someone who agrees with me about the insanity of the new car bashing that has been going on.

Dear NHRA,

I would like to petiton for 75 horsepower off the SS/AH Hemi. No, not all Hemi's. Just the "King Cuda". I know it was going 8.50s when we bought it but we managed to work out all the kinks and now it goes 9.60s. It is the combination that is the problem...obviously.

Thank you,
Guys with a lot of money

P.S. I can not figure out how to tune three carbs on a stocker. Steve Wann and Chad Loge ran circles around me which means they must be cheating. Look into it.

Hey Jeff,

When you petition NHRA, make sure to remind them that the first year they made the High Performance 396 it was rated @425, and that motor had a hydraulic cam, so the stuff out there now should be even higher, hey, whats fair is fair huh?

if these cars are factory experimental i think the factory failed the experiment.i payed 25k for a body in white and a engine that kicks rods above 6 grand and 20k for a tag on the strut tower.
i bet if you got a 68 hemi cuda from the dealer you could race it that night.

this is my thought on these cars.....a joke

You could try if it didn't blow up in your garage. Everybody learned very quickly to take it home ,tear it down and check everything. Everybody can tell you---No 68 cuda or dart were race ready when you picked it up. The motors were thrown together , thrown in the car and pushed into the lot to be picked up at the factory.

Could somebody answer the question on why a Dodge Challenger ( showroom stock , streetable, complete, driveable as delivered with a VIN number) was never submitted to the NHRA by Chrysler . Why would you submit half a car that has nothing to do with what they are selling in the showroom and submit a HP rating so low that nobody believed it but NHRA. And NHRA puts it in STOCK !!!!!!! WHO IS REALLY RESPONSIBLE ?

Well, for one, the factory advertises the SRT8 at 425 hp. With that rating, it would never be competitive in Stock. Why you ask? Simple. No compression, no 1000 cfm throttle body, no .560" lift camshaft, or SS-style intake manifold. Not to mention all the other components that wouldn't exactly survive in a Stocker (IRS, rear differential, trans, etc...).

Even if it were de-factored, what good does that do Mopar? That car wouldn't look nearly as impressive ET-wise as a DP car does and, let's face it, the average guy in the stands doesn't know the difference between a 6.1 DP and a 6.1 SRT8 engine. To them it's just a "Hemi Challenger."
