Almost everyone out here has a Chevy or no car. And yes I have a dealership. Think someone made it work for 43 years. My first car was a $1200 used hemi that I had to finance in l970. I worked hard at the shop as I worked hard on my race cars. We fixed our customers cars at the track for years. And I will have a Viper Challenger. Nuff said about that.

It does not matter how hard you've worked or for how long and it doesn't matter if it's a GM or MOPAR or FORD this is wrong. They need there own class or put in superstock with a correct factor!!!!!!. Must be nice to be a BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND. why don't you go run SS/AH, oh that's right hard to run with the top dogs over there just like it was in top stock.

im not a class racer but sure as heck would like to be one day and i am 23 years old, but from what i see its going to be impossible unless your filthy rich to field a fun halway competitave super stock car unless you have massive factory backing, big time sponsorship, or one of these insane cars that are factored WAY off base and dont even belong in the classes they have been put in.
on a side not i really have not paid much attention to some of the other classes as in ss/bs and the like but when i got my ND in the mail i couldnt help but wonder 2 things, who the hell races an ant-eater, and 2 why the heck is a COMP ELIMINATOR car racing in superstock!! this goes back to me being 23 and having a deep interest in stock or super stock but month by month it gets farther out of reach. even for stock. so unless things change i fer the class may die due to lack of interest from the younget guys like me, i love it when i go to a national event i see the noise makers but then everybdys gets up and leaves and it gives me prime time seating for the best classes around pro stock, stock, SS and comp. but unless things change and cars get put where they belong i think the class, SS, will be in trouble and this is coming form an outsider who actually cares. nothing like hanging them high & banging gears. What is a roll controll in a transmision if it is not a trans brake? What is next the delay box that is part of the factory computer so it is ok?

Let's just call ALL these factory drag cars what they are ------F/X!
The factories tried this stuff in the 60s which became S/S then F/X. at least back then they had the stones to admit it! |

My favorite quote"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!" It appears that the factories have absolute power. The door has been opened to allow the most outlandish devices to compete in stock. What next Matty boxes? Because of a poor choice of allowing Super Stock/fx cars to compete in stock, we are now seeing the demise of Stock as we have known it.

Modern transmissions have Roll Controll integrated, so that shouldn't be a suprise. But I must say that after five years of development of our SS/D V10 I am sceptical to this new package.... The small HEMI is a WAY better engine!

While I look forward to seeing these cars on the track, I don’t see anything wrong with the former policy of build 500 for stock, 50 for Super Stock and a few for FX.
In their day the 68 A body race cars had a lot of items that were pretty far afield from the production cars. While I would like to see a lot of the cars in Super Stock run in a Modified Eliminator that is not going to happen, the 2011 Drag Paks are pretty tame compared to the little Pro Stockers that run in the eliminator today. A little off this topic but like I have said before, we don’t need any more classes but I think the blown cars should be in separate classes. Bill Lamb |
