I for one have advocated changes that would potentially increase heads-up runs. The ones that fight the notion are class racers with their own agenda.

Saying that bracket racers are trying to get rid of heads-up runs in S/SS racing is like saying bracket racing is too complicated to explain to spectators. It's a popular argument, but one that doesn't hold water upon closer inspection.

Just my $.02,
You know the reality. These guys just don't like getting beat by people who take the driving part of the equation as seriously or more seriously than the tuning part of the equation.

It's always the same people making this claim.

On the flip side, it could be made into a purely heads up eliminator. Than about half of the car count will disappear and the same group of grouchy old dudes that have been doing the same thing for the last 40 years can all run against each other until either they or the class die off first.

At least in my posts on these cars I've tried to suggest alternatives. You've just been
whmpering like a sissy in the school yard.
You bring bitching and moaning to another level.Maybe you should just go racing with the
"country club" people.
On the second thought, they would eat a little lamb like you alive. You think S/SS is competitive?

There are only two 'alternatives' to deal with this situation, both of which have been previously mentioned. I'm just here supporting doing one of the two options.

Either add 75-100 hp or put them in their own class.

I guess suggesting one of those two options is chosen, and humpty dumpty gets put back together again makes me a whiner.

You're correct. When AHFS is up for corrections, I will be one of MANY e-mailing the powers that be hoping they will give a rats ***. But you know as well as I do, they don't.

Jeff Lee, post 119...."I had a long talk with .......NHRA....."

I pretty much enjoy your posts, many are enlightening; I'm just trying to figure out how you can talk directly to NHRA....a long talk nonetheless....I can't get e-mails, letters answered, or anyone....ever...on the phone. Inquiring minds want to know the secret to direct access. Care to share?

Glad to see all the new cars that have come into drag racing, I love the fact that they're not afraid to invest their hard earned money in our sport. I'm for a triple A rating on all the CJ and DP's give them a new class AAA/SA on down Right down to EAA/SA no problem, this way older combination won't be as affected by this new blood in their ranks. CJ's and DP's aren't VIN numbered street vehicle, mostly all factory race cars and should have their own class anyways. I know it won't help other cars to qualify in a field. NHRA should have an all run if you show up policy in Stock super stock. My opinion and we all know what they say about opinions.CR

Why not....

A/FX @ 7.0

B/FX @ 8.0

C/FX @ 9.0

....make the indexes realistic and everyone should be happy.

It makes sense. I don't see the owners of the paper cars going for it, it would take away the unfair advantage they know they have.
