How incredibly sad! Although I never met Chris, I always found his posts to be insightful and never boring. I often wondered what he would be up to next. I guess now we'll never know!

My heartfelt condolences to the Wertman Family. G-d is looking out for Chris now.

Unhappy Re: Chris Wertman RIP

Some people are never fully appreciated until they are taken from our lives. The Drooze offered much to be appreciated. The devastation of losing him will be greatly felt amongst the class racing community with his wit, insight, and all around good guy nature.

RIP C.W.

You will be greatly missed by many.

Chris's passing is a huge loss to this site, and to drag racing overall. His great spirit will always be unforgettable to me.....I've never met anyone with a more positive attitude. Blessings to the Wertman Family and their many friends. He was one special guy........

WOW! Horible news. Although I never met him I was following his Challenger build. What an awesome guy as he offered his services to our association and wasn't even in the South.

Brenda and I send our condolences to Chris' family. Chris unknowingly provided inspiration to all of us, even those who won't admit it. Inspiration can be in a positive/direct form or a reverse psychology type, in any case he did inspire me in both ways.

Dear David and Mandie,
Please accept our most heartfelt condolences on the loss of Chris. We feel privileged to be among those who actually met you all when you were parked next to us at Indy. Your loss will be felt by many throughout the racing community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire Wertman family.
