Chris,

There was a guy at the Route 66 nats in Chicago this year in S/G that we watched run 9.93 at 86MPH......he left like a bat out of h.....and then essentially went dead at about the 1/8th mile......it was definitely entertaining, however it didn't work out too well he lost in rd. 1.

So to be clear, you guys would suggest that go on the stop at .1 secs then shift around .2 or so?

I think I'd do like Ron said, shift on RPM and try that unless your dead set on shifting on time if that's the case I'd shift at 1. + or what ever you feel works for your combo and go from there.........

...and the key reason to shift early (on time) is if your engine can't stay on the stop (climbs RPM). For example, we have 900hp and if we don't shift early (we shift at 1.0), our car climbs on the stop, and becomes inconsistent.
