You can do anything you want to as long as its with in the law!!!!!!!! On your (private time) is that what your saying???? ..... I agree, but when you drink and drive nowdays,( was he thinking,) say look at me, they wont get me,im the prez. Of NHRA. they cant do anything to me.. If that was what he was thinking? Then we have a problem!!! HE IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW..... 1.Did he jump thought all of the hoops after the DUI?? 2. What was his blood alcohol level?? 3.Was he on any thing else??? As NHRA members do we get those answers??? NHRA wants to know all about our lives!!! .im surprised that you race at all coming from the land of the whackos out there......... (whats good for the goose is good for the gander) ya ok, it is good for all of us,but from the top to the bottom... End of story.......... |

Unfortunately he got a DUI...not a smart move. Did I say he was above the law? Nope and I hope he had to live within the rules of the situation. I do not condone driving and drinking, I think people are stupid to drive after even one beer. I believe it was an embarassment to an organization that is "dedicated to safety". I also believe that his DUI has no more bearing on the members of the organization than the guy pitted next to us or a Safety Safari worker with a DUI on his driving record. Last I checked we weren't required to divulge any of this stuff to NHRA either. But what do I know...I live in the land of the whackos.

The license renewal form asks for current drivers license and renewal date. What happens if you "lose" your license between NHRA renewal dates? I've never been asked to show my current drivers license at an event, only my competition license and membership card.

If you do not have a valid drivers license you are not allowed to have an NHRA license.
I think you are on your "honor" to let NHRA know if you loose your license.

Couple questions
so how does nhra pick someone to be drug tested? is it Radom or can someone point the finger at someone and have them tested? if you get a DUI and loose you license but you have a permit to drive to and from work can you still race at NHRA events?

As far as loosing your state issued drivers license, I'm not sure if NHRA has a stance on this matter. 20+ years ago at Gainesville, Bracket racer A had knowlege that Bracket racer B had his license suspended for having too many speeding tickets in a given amount of time (I was not either A or B). Bracket racer A pointed this out to a track official and asked if it was legal for him to be racing while his state issued drivers license was suspended. The official refered them to then track manager Bob Moore. Bob told them that Racer B's issues with the state of Florida DMV wasn't any concern of his or the track. If the racer was capable of holding a drivers license (legal age, etc.), then that's all he was concerned about. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. ![]() RIP Mark Graham

To bracket race at RT66 you have to produce a valid driver's license, your d/l number has to be on the tech card.
I was bounced at Coles County 20 years ago because my work permit had no hours on it for Saturday or Sunday. |
