Default Shut down distances.

Had nothing to do so I got on Google World and here's some interesting stats on shutdown distances in Div.1.

Island- .58 mi.
Numidia- .58 mi.
Maple Grove- .67 mi.
Lebanon Valley- .67 mi.
OBT RP- .67 mi.
Cecil co.- .68 mi.
Atco- .74 mi.
VMP- .77 mi.

Interestingly when we ran at Island there were complaints that the shut down area was too short.Interestingly Garlits ran 200 there with one of the Swamp Rats.I think that Cecil Co. is probably the scariest. After the end of the shut down area if you dont stop you launch into the air like the General Lee.
Just an observation from an idle mind.Bill here's another chance for a new crusade.LOL.

Ed,
Don't get your hopes up; I've never had a car that ran fast enough for ANYshutdown area to be a problem...

Haha but up until they extended it this year it's always was one of the most difficult to shut down in Phoenix...remember Doug Kalitta taking out the signs at the 2008 event.

I hate running at Cecil County cause it's bumpy and short and no shut-down if you lose your breaks. Numidia is actually not that bad once you get up the hill there is actually more shutdown area after from where they make you turn off just in case. By far Atco is the best place for shutdown, you can have a full course meal by the time you reach the end of the track..

Mr Fernandez,
A friend told me you ran an in-line 6 AMC and did very well. A friend of mine now has my old 74 Gremlin with a 258 that I had "built" and would like to know what you did to yours to "smoke" those pesky V-8s. I think I have mine to about 300 Hp.
Thank you sir.

Shut downs? Probably not a lot who are reading this have been there, but no conversation about shut downs would be complete without mentioning Sumerduck.

That is where I started racing. Talking about a bull ring operation. I don't know how many people wound up in that creek after descending the hill.
