Are we still on the roller cams? have you not been able to get Schubecks or tool steel lifters and a billet cam?

Guess we are. It seems We could find an answer to why only obsolete Schubecks, or $2000+ tool steels are legal in older cars but a roller ain't.

I have no dog in this fight, being that the fastest I’ve gone with my stocker is .60 under(so far), but I have a set of $250 lifters in my engine, a cast camshaft that is plenty big, and not all that much spring pressure, and everything seems to be ok in my valve train. The only thing adding roller cams to all cars in stock is give an advantage to racers that can afford another probably at least $2,000 in a roller cam, lifters, and valve springs to match. And don’t be tempted to buy cheap roller lifers. They can cause similar catastrophic events as a schubeck that experienced valve float one too many times.

I have no skin in the game either. I race a super stock car so I already have a roller valve train. I think the reason some are asking to get the roller cam and lifters approved for the older flat tappet engines is that probably half of the stock eliminator cars now have roller cam and lifters. Some of the new stuff even has CNC ported heads. The cat is out of the bag so let the guys with the older classic muscle cars step up into this century and even things out a bit. Just my observation.
Maybe make it like the aftermarket heads with a small HP penalty to run the roller stuff

Or, they could just build a newer car that actually came with roller lifters....
