Stuff like this really doesnt happen very often. I can count on my one hand the amount of times my dial has been incorrect and I have been racing a long time. Once you get burned it wont happen to you again.

The Huntzberrys are a great family. They support stock and super stock racing. I received a $100 check from them for my win at Reynolds this year. I was taken back when that happened. I had no idea that they were doing it. Troy's wife searched me out on facebook to get my check to me because NHRA gave her a wrong address and the check got returned.
So far, this is the most rational response to this post. And sorry if I made some inappropriate health comments at the beginning.I just didn't think it was appropriate to call out a racer who I don't even know.If a player is safe or out or catches the pass or drops it,don't hate the player, hate the referee if the call was bad.

Bottom line the official made an uninformed call. In my mind NHRA needs to remove points and send Mr. Wahl his third round money. No more and nothing less.

Wow! Did you even read where I explained why I supposedly "called out" Troy? I wanted to have him explain his side here. I didn't know I had to 'know" someone to "call" them out. Not sure what baseball or football has to do with this situation but I don't recall anyone mentioning anyone being hated. Did I miss something. Unlike many here, I have read and reread every post and carefully thought about their content before I commented on them. If you're interested enough to comment on this, please be interested enough to read the whole thread.

I have received 28 phone calls in the last two days from racers who felt they needed to comment to me personally. 26 agreed completely that Casey won and Troy lost, and that the DD compounded the problem by reinstating Troy. One of the other two just wanted to tell me I was wasting my time bringing this situation up to the racers on this site. The other one called Casey and me idiots and agreed with the DD. He did admit he was a good friend of the Hutzberry's. I don't think I am wasting my time. I actually feel rather vindicated. Thank you Larry for being the voice of reason here. It means a lot tome. Jim

Does this really need to be about Troy? I met Harry Huntzberry in the lanes many years ago at MRI and I'm quite sure this group knows how to race. The Division Director made the wrong call. End of story.

How many Division Directors have there been in the past ten years in all seven of the
divisions? It used to be like serving on the SCOTUS.

OK. I'm gunna try and explain this one more time. In answer to your question. Yes, it needed to be about Troy, and it needed to be about Casey, and it needed to be about Cody Savage (DD2). I took journalism in college and the first thing they tell you is "sensationalism sells". I already explained I wanted Troys ideas on the situation. You heard from me, you heard from Casey and I'm still hoping to hear from Troy. I think I made it clear enough in my posts that I laid the bulk of the problem with the DD. I said both of the drivers made mistakes but the DD just plain screwed the pooch on this. Frankly it doesn't matter whether you know or like either of the drivers. I could have called them "Driver A" and "Driver B" but that would have been stupid. I don't know either racer well enough to comment on what great guys they are but that has nothing to do with the situation. In fact, I don't know Troy at all. The facts clearly show Casey won and got screwed by the DD's uneducated call. Now I don't know you either Frank but I would feel the same way if it was you instead of Casey. Jim

Good points. In my own ignorance, just wondering if it’s in the rule book that says a competitors car must complete his run under its own power? I know sometimes there are cases where you can just take the green light and back off if you have no opponent. 🤔🤔🤔
