For a Super Stock GT engine you do not need to go and spend $$$ on a Crower or Bryant crankshaft. There are more affordable crankshafts from other vendors that will do the job and more. |

If Scat makes one, for the money that would be my choice.

Alex's 289 Ford engine is a fast, record holding, 9,000+ RPM engine and it is an example of Ukranian punishment! |

Thanks for the input. These are the ones that are in my budget:
Scat Eagle I think the Eagle is the one on the list but the numbers aren't an exact match. The main issue I have as a first time builder is that the process for approving a part is a bit of a mystery unless you know a bunch of seasoned racers. Just a paragraph in the General section of the rules explaining the process would remove the mystery for a lot of us. Maybe I'll just build an exploding Funny car or sideways ProMod. They seem to rate above Sportsman. Dale

RPM lists a closeout 302 forged crank for about $350.00. Might be worth a look if you can get an approval.

Hey,
I think I have what you want... The NHRA "approved:" crank, SuperStock ready. All work done by Bullet, stroked .013, 2.00" (small chevy) rods, .010 under mains, heat treated, etc.. Crower had the rods in stock ... New in the box never placed in a block Check it out http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=50145
