Fuel injection did have an effect on the power of the engines. I have two friends, one works for Hendricks and the other for Roush Racing.
The both said the NASCAR engines still make more power with carbs and accelerate better during transient acceleration when compared to fuel injection.

Holley must have paid a big fee to be the sole supplier of the FI components.
