Default Koni Spa1 Drag Shocks Users/ Recommendations

What adjustments are you guys using on these shocks?
How many turns from the softest setting for the front and rear?

Rears - 5 sweeps on the rebound and 5 or 6 clicks on the compression.

I run the Spa1 rears on my Maverick, and I am an 1/8 of a turn off full tight with the Caltrak. When I ran the fronts. I was full loose.

I am using single adjustable on front,1 sweep from full loose and double adjust on back, rebound 1 sweep from full tight, compression 4-5 clicks from full loose.

I have never gone wrong following Pustelny's advice: Start both fronts and rears in the middle of the range and tune from there according to what the 60-foot times tell you. You'll usually be fairly close on the back (starting in the middle) and you'll probably end up loosening the fronts a bit. In my humble opinion, there is no setting that works for all (or even most) cars. Your car wants its own setup.

Very true. I like to use aggressive set ups and use the shock to control the housing or the front end. And I like to try to run the rear shock as tight as I can. Some can use shelf shocks, most I see can benefit from something else.

If you get to dead tight, or one notch from dead tight, and the car wants more, it may be time to step up on the shock or shock valving. I want to run the shock somewhere in the middle, so I have room to adjust either way, and still have it as tight as I want.

SPA1 is an old set up. Things have changed. I've taken SPA1 dampers off, replaced them with custom stuff, or an AFCO Big Gun shock, and made for a very different car. Front and rear.
