Hi,
I'm in the process of changing the front discs on a 74 Corvette Bracket car from stock to a Wilwood setup. The upper bracket mount bolts to the stock spindle with a 11/16-16 Torx bolt (supplied from Wilwood). The bolt is 1 1/2 in long and needs to be torqued to 140ft-lbs. The problem is that when the bolt is spaced as per directions, there are 3 threads making contact in the hole. Not nearly enough for 140 ft-lbs!! I'm waiting for Wilwood to return my call (hopefully they have a 2 or 2 1/4in bolt!). In the meantime, anybody run into this and how did you handle it? Did you find a longer bolt? Where? (Grainger, etc don't have any that big). Thanks in advance, walt z. |
