Will it have to be charged anymore? I have a super stocker with no alternator. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks jason

I ran 2 AC Delco 1000 amp 12 volt batteries in my former super stocker for 12 years without issue, swapping them out every 4 years. I decided to swap to XS D1600 at the conclusion of the 2020 season so both my cars(other is a dragster) would have the same battery.
I have always run an alternator and wouldn't race without one. Charging is the same as a 12volt. Every electric motor spins faster...starter, water pump and fuel pump.
The only down side is 16volt batteries do not have the reserve capacity that 12volt do, they have a history of working and then not without warning and they are heavy, 47lbs.
The dragster now runs a lite weight (8 lbs.) 16v lithium battery
