Battery comparison
How does a XS D1600 or S1600 compare to regular 850-1000 amp 12-volt battery?I see the amps are a lot lower on the 16 volt but it being a 16 volt is it going to give as much cranking power than the 12 volt? Will it have to be charged anymore? I have a super stocker with no alternator. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks jason

Re: Battery comparison
Multiply Volts x Amps to get Watts for a comparison of output for the 12 volt vs 16 volt battery.

Re: Battery comparison
I had 12v on my big block and would break teeth on the flexplate. switched to 16v. spins over like a stock engine would

I have always run an alternator and wouldn't race without one. Charging is the same as a 12volt. Every electric motor spins faster...starter, water pump and fuel pump. The only down side is 16volt batteries do not have the reserve capacity that 12volt do, they have a history of working and then not without warning and they are heavy, 47lbs. https://i.imgur.com/6IYusxhl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Pn16Ol3l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bDaFNx7l.jpg The dragster now runs a lite weight (8 lbs.) 16v lithium battery https://i.imgur.com/oK5SLwrl.jpg |
