Default Re: Trans shield 3rd Gen f body??

hey Kevin, what brand of blankets are you referring to? I have the same space issues, trying to use a TH400 in a '65 Chevelle. A really small tunnel since they used PG's only.

When using a blanket, what's everyone's opinion on clearance for the shift cable? Sorry if I steered us off course.

thanks, Ken

Most are using the RCi but Stroud and Deist also make blankets. A nice trick is to use 2 of these clamps and mount them to the bolts that hold the tranny pan on, then put a piece of electrical tubeing threw the clamps. This supports the blanket and keeps it off the linkage.

I tried the metal CSR shield and I can get it around the trans. The shift cable is where I'll have a problem and at the Rt. header collector. I'll need to order a shift cable bracket to modify and i think it will fit with some modifications.
I didn't want to wrap the trans in the blanket, but I do have one to try. I figured the shift cable would be a problem with the blanket also.
