Trans shield 3rd Gen f body??

I have a T350 behind a small block in my 3rd gen Camaro. What trans shield will fit? I've got a CSR, both the form fitting one and the one that goes at the rear section. There is no way the form fitting one will fit with a stock floor pan and firewall that I can see. Tell me if you can get one to work. The rear shield will go in but it's going to take some work around the shift cable and my header collectors. It sure is tight under there!

I run a TH200 but no shield, all I can say is good luck!

I have some friends having the same issues and looks like a blanket is the way to go. Some nice blankets out there today in a couple different lengths.

hey Kevin, what brand of blankets are you referring to? I have the same space issues, trying to use a TH400 in a '65 Chevelle. A really small tunnel since they used PG's only.

When using a blanket, what's everyone's opinion on clearance for the shift cable? Sorry if I steered us off course.

thanks, Ken

Most are using the RCi but Stroud and Deist also make blankets. A nice trick is to use 2 of these clamps and mount them to the bolts that hold the tranny pan on, then put a piece of electrical tubeing threw the clamps. This supports the blanket and keeps it off the linkage.

I tried the metal CSR shield and I can get it around the trans. The shift cable is where I'll have a problem and at the Rt. header collector. I'll need to order a shift cable bracket to modify and i think it will fit with some modifications.
I didn't want to wrap the trans in the blanket, but I do have one to try. I figured the shift cable would be a problem with the blanket also.
