Re: Dick Landy 'Q & A'
Dick's '62 was not one of the 11 lightweights Ford put together for Indy in 1962. It was a standard "steel" car but it may have eventually had some over the counter lightweight parts. Ford did sell a lightweight "kit" over the counter.
Dick also ran a '61 390-401 Starliner from what I've been told. So there was a bit of blue oval in Dandy Dick's background...

Originally, Landy began his Pro racing career driving Fords and in 1962, he got a new 406-cid Ford Galaxie, which would have been a good car, but that was the year that Chrysler got into drag racing, and it made all the Fords and Chevys obsolete. Re: Dick Landy 'Q & A'
Thanks to Mopar68 and Charlie A for adding the photos of Dick's 62 Ford and 63 Plymouth. I have the 63 Plymouth in Hotwheels did a few years ago. It is part of a old school drag strip diorama that features about a 120 cars and trucks.

Re: Dick Landy 'Q & A'
I thought his 63 was a stick car. By the looks of Paul's picture, sure looks like his left hand is ready to punch 2nd
