On our 71 Nova we set the pinion down about 4*- 6* which ends up to be 0 under heavy acceleration with spring deflection. Maybe old school but will find out from others.

best possible set up is u joint is zero at pinion and the angle is at the trans, under acceration to avoid any drivelin vibration ,if you car sits high the pinion angles will be optimum but if running stockers you might have the pinion angle going negitive because of ride height but will have the correct drive shaft angle ,,just my 2 cents from my application gmonde

On our mopars the Calvert system does not generate nearly the rear end travel
of the old SS Springs. We run 1 to 2 Degrees on both ends of the driveline. When we set them at 6 Degrees like the SS Springs we had a noticeable vibration according to Jon Jr. The Calvert system (Springs/Bars/Shocks) is some of the best money we have ever spent on our stuff. We run a dozen cars with them including our Super Stock/Super Street cars running on Transbrakes. Calvert always seem to have time to help you no matter how busy he is and is one of the Fairest and most Honest Manufactures we have meet! Last edited by GTX JOHN; 09-03-2012 at 08:44 PM. |
