Why does this switch need to be adjustable?
If you are using an adjustable switch, must you install a brake pressure guage?

Adjustable helps you adjust your reaction time. There is a point of diminishing return. I don't use a pressure gauge, but I always check it for muscle memory right before I pre-stage.

OK, then let me ask this.
Is it required that the pressure switch be installed before the line lock on the front brakes? It would seem to me that installation after the line lock would circumvent the "two step applied by brake" rule. If you install it after the line lock, all you would need to do is step on the brake, apply the line lock, and the line lock pressure would hold the front brakes and the two step pressure switch closed. And we all know the line lock switch can be mounted any place you desire.

i have found a very good quality pressure switch through my hydraulic company. it is adjustable and has both n/o and n/c polls, and is setup with a hershman type connector. It has a 1/4 npt nipple. not for the faint hearted if you think its gonna be cheap tho! it runs right around $60 each. i plan on using mine for nothing other than connecting a ground to a red warning light that tells me i have my pedal down to the same location each time in my foot brake stocker. i run a button on my pedal for the two step. i have bursted a brake line at the starting line once and was able to win the round cause the car didnt launch till i wanted it to (the other guy went red behind me!). with a pressure switch in the system opperating the two step the car would have taken off as soon as the pressure dropped.
just my two sense! Ian |

No special switch, no concern over installing in front or rear hydraulics, no concern over front to rear bias, and no pressure guage. Just step on the brake and simultaneously activate the switch.

Since the car is going to move the instant the pressure falls below the switch pressure and the engine goes from it's chipped RPM to converter stall speed (regardless if the brakes are fully released or not and regardless of front to rear bias), WHAT difference does it make if the switch is in the front or rear hydraulics?

We put the pressure switch that Brian and Nick Folk sell in our stocker a few weeks ago and tested with it Memorial day weekend. It is deadly consistent in the r/t department for our car and easy to adjust.

Not if you install it before the line lock.
