has anyone tried to reduce the amount of air entering the grill and engine compartment area? what was it worth? mph? et? thinking about putting a shield under the engine to the bumper and closing up the frontal area by the radiator. just wondering if it was worth the effort.

A lot depends on the car , grill opening , frontal area , recessed grill, ect. ......On my '40 Willys, which despite all it's roundness, is an aerodynamic brick, closing the grill was worth over 1 1/2 MPH ! ....Only problem was going rounds in hot weather, just could'nt cool down the car. ......

In my pics you'll see our Henry J in Green when the front grill area was open (factory) and a pic of it in purple with the grill area closed off with fiberglass from Ai Industries in Elkridge MD. Not sure if they are still there, but I believe they did a lot of work on Jeff Brooks super gas Henry J back in the mid 90's.
Just that $225 addition dropped our ET from the 10.60's to the 10.20's and picked up around 8 mph. We were shocked at the difference to say the least.
