Yes, on the ODD-BALL,,I would agree, the 1970 Toronado GT qualifies for this thread. A standard Toronado came with the 455/375hp engine. The performance GT with the W-34 option gave you the 455/400hp engine. Also, equipped with a special TH-425 Turbo-Hydromatic, and a special torque-converter (higher stall speed). The engine came through with larger intake valves, and high performance camshaft (specs not listed). The rear bumper had cut-outs for the dual exhaust ends. The car did come through with special 'GT' badging. Of course, the final drive ratio for the front-wheel beast, 3.07. I think other options were available, not part of the W-34 GT option. One thing, just 'Do Not Get in The Way of That Car'. 4500lbs. and capable of reaching 135mph!!! Paul,,,Thats with the a/c on.. |
