When you guys say the 1.76 gear set, is it a stock used gm gear set with the stock carrier and out put shaft? One option I'm thinking about is a 1.80 straight cut gear by transmission specialties in P.A. The whole tranny is $1600 PL-2500

I would go with the 1.98.... now then in a "stocker" we picked up .15 going from a 1.82 to a 2.08!

T-200. I would bet it would drop it to a solid 9.90 over your current set-up. Right now. But what do I know, I'm a stick guy.

My Camaro (good 364, 5.13 gear, 10.5 tire, 3350wt) worked and ETd much better with 1.76.

I realized that. You didn't drive it on the street that much did you?
Since you have made it race only (correct?), go all out with gearing and weight removal.

IMO, you made a great choice. That is an outstanding deal! I think the 1.80 gear is just about ideal for 355-555 inch engines. Bracket stuff, not class cars.
Just remember to stay on top of the band adjustment. I'd check it before every event. Have fun. |
