Default 427 BBC pistons closed chamber ideas or?

Looking at building a .060 427. Have a set of 291 closed chamber heads that flow very well. Any idea on a light piston? Any rod length at this point.

Pump gas? Race gas? Roller cam? How fast are you trying to go?

Most all of the "shelf stock" pistons are going to be for the stock for. They're going to have a 1/16", 1/16", 3/16" ring package. You could have something made, Vic Ellenger at Wiseco will hook you up.

Alan,

E-85 Roller cam, I would be stoked to be in the mid to low 9's or in the 5's eight mile. Local we just have 1/8th 1/4 is over 5 hours since HRP is gone. I really appreciate your insights. I can post up my cam specs to. Would I be better off with a open chamber head? 990 or 088?

An open chamber head will flow better. But you can make big power with a closed chamber head.

Cam specs might help.

How much HP do you need to achieve your goal?
