If you take the turbo off (redo the engine). You can run SS/FS with the car.

isnt the SS/M? record by Mark Walton at Kearney with a SVO mustang? So its either run it in SS/MX or as a comp car?

well, what would you recommend? run stock m with a 302 5 speed combo, or superstock 5 speed 302? what about modified SS?

Mark Walton's car is a pre SVO non- intercooled FI turbo. Available in all Mustang body styles in 1983.

It would make one hell of a good Q/Stocker

Incidentally, you can't make a 79 into a 93 with just bolt ons. There are differences in the cowl vent area . But you can fake it.
It's not quite a blatant as 68 CJ heads on a 67 model
