After some discussion , we have decided to run the race as an 1/8 th mile race. Hope this does not stop anyone from making this race!! Still great payout and round money, so hope everyone can make it to this race. Thanks

Hhhhmmmm. I'll bet it was those pesky U/SA guys that were afraid of
getting stopped in the shut down area. Is there any room to talk about this, as I want it to be safe for everyone. How would it be if we ran 1000 ft? Reduced MPH, more shut off room. Hopefully this can be given some serious thought, if it is safe. Thanks, J.R. |

Yes I'm curious to know why this decision was reached... Is it a safety issue? With the length of shutdown area? I have yet to attend a race in Onawa so I have no knowledge of the facility. I for one especially with the stick car really prefer 1/4 mile and was looking forward to racing this event.

John , JR -Safety was our main reason for having to make this change. For various reasons the guard rail has not been completed or couldn't be completed for our race. I would hope everyone will understand our need to make that change and still attend the race. Thanks

Johnny, I couldn't imagine getting your car all the way to 4th gear, and
then having to play the finish line. I would have trouble with a slow powerglide car, LOL. J.R. |
