Looks like a a good show, well organized, we need more of these races. Here are a few shots from this morning... |

The finals, it was Brent Pozzi in his 69 Camaro over Billy Ryan in his 05 Cavalier. Both drivers dead on with a 5. Some tight racing for sure.

GALOT Motorsports Park Race #7 & #8 Recap/Results
Saturday we had 38 entries making 1st round. There was 40 there but one car broke during his Dash for Cash run & one car broke in the staging lanes after pairings. Missy Phillips picked up the Warren Engines Dash for Cash $100 for running 6.460 on her 6.46 dial. Newcomer to the Super Stock & CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association scene, Russell Ghent got the Victory Lane Golf Carts 1st Round Best Losing Package. Russell was dialed a 6.39, had a .014 RT & ran a 6.383 @ 104.22 mph. 2nd Round Best Losing Package sponsored by Ford's Fuel and Propane/Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants went to points leader Raymond Roland. Raymond was dialed on a 7.20, had a .015 RT, & ran 7.188 @ 92.98 mph. Monnie Morris was the lone semi-finalist. Continuing his winning streak from last Sunday, Brent Pozzi took the win in the final over Billy Ryan. This was Brent's 2nd win within 7 days at the same track & his first ever CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association win. Both guys had an awesome run in the finals. Brent dialed a 6.70 to Billy's 6.19. The reaction time was the deciding factor for the finals where Brent took the RT advantage using his .017 RT to Billy's .043 RT. Both Brent & Billy ran dead 5 on their dial's. Steve Lucas received The Paul Bunyan "Best Reaction Time" award sponsored by Auto Plus Service Center for his .004 RT in Round 1 eliminations. Curt Smith Jr. received the "Hard Luck Award" sponsored by McLawhorn Racing for his tough luck of breaking in the staging lanes after pairings for 1st round. Sunday was another hot day with high humidity first thing in the morning. We started off with our Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash. Dennis Pope received that $100 for his 7.180 on his 7.18 dial. We had 34 cars make first round call. Doug Hobgood claimed the 1st Round Best Losing Package courtesy of Victory Lane Golf Carts. Doug was dialed on 5.92, had a .030 RT, & ran 5.922 @ 114.74 mph. Keith Alexander (for the 2nd time this season & son Korey thankful for it) received the 5 gallons of PRO 112+ racing fuel sponsored by Ford's Fuel and Propane/Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants for his 2nd Round Best Losing Package. Keith was dialed on a 6.65, had a .056 RT, & ran 6.655 @ 101.19 mph. Points leader, Raymond Roland, was today's lone semi-finalist. Unfortunately, the semis saw 2 bye runs where Raymond broke (ignition related he thinks) right before pulling into the water box. He said he will be replacing all ignition related components before his next race as he is still running a analog style Msd Ignition box so we all know how old it must be. Of course Tabitha told him his next one probably wouldn't last quite that long 😉. In the finals, it was Joseph Strickland (in his first ever finals) & Lee Truell. This one was over at the hit when Lee left .012 early handing Joseph Strickland his first ever win. Joseph definitely deserved today's win as he took out some heavy hitters on his way to his first win. Joseph was ready to give Lee a run for his money in the finals as Joesph was .016 & ran a 7.559 @ 87.78 mph on his 7.57 dial in. Mike Moller got The Paul Bunyan "Best Reaction Time" money sponsored by Auto Plus Service Center for his .000 RT (Yes perfect light in his "Slow Taxi" ride) in Round 2 eliminations. Raymond Roland got the "Hard Luck Award" sponsored by McLawhorn Racing for his parts failure in the semis. I'm sure he'll be using that $25 towards purchase of his new Msd Ignition parts. We only have 2 races left in our 2021 CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association season. We are already discussing tracks to attend in 2022 & sponsors are already coming on board. Our last race of the season is scheduled for November 20th & 21st at Coastal Plains Raceway Park Dragway. On Saturday we will be having a BIG get together with lots of good food & desserts but we'll go over that closer to the time. On behalf of the CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association, we would like to say THANK YOU to the staff of GALOT Motorsports Park for allowing us to race at their track this past weekend. Special THANK YOU to all of our dedications racers that have supported us as well as our sponsors. We couldn't do it without all of you. We are already discussing some changes etc for the 2022 racing season & we hope to have all of your support next year. As always, if you have any questions/comments/concerns/suggestions, please reach out to Tabitha Moore Draughon &/or Leigh Anne Flynt. See y'all in November where hopefully it will be much cooler & of course, faster!!! |
