Hey all, I just finished another set of US Nationals uploads from 2012 SS class.
I have quit racing by then, and am going back as a fan, to enjoy what the best of the best are doing. As a lifelong fan of big tire SS cars, I am now so biased, I can hardly stand to see what has happened in stock, so I didn't film or upload much of the blown stock cars, so there is not much in the stock library from this year. I am wondering if any magazine ever covered the timeless efforts of the Westcott team, when they started to force everyone to up their AA hemi game. I felt they deserved more press for the epic final round engine change (forgot the year), when Charlie Sr. won, and how spectacular that was, and has to rate with the famous Lingenfelter helicopter engine flight story. There are other epic Indy efforts we have all seen. Anyone car to name their favorite? The press and magazine coverage does fuel the sport, and sets an example of how hard you have to work. This years race was one where Charlie Jr let everyone get a head start and came from behind. Its most epic because the only guy brave enough to do a stick hemi car before this era, was Bullet Bob. I have never met a more common sense clutch guy than CW, and there are some breath taking efforts on this film. Many thanks to Charlie for all the help he provided me over the years. Just a great mind, innovator, power broker, and clutch supplier. These 2012 films are classics with the new east side stands, and some great Dan Jacobs action. I am sorry if I skipped your racing efforts, maybe I just wanted to watch instead of film all of it. I like stick cars, as you can tell, and thought this will cheer you up this winter. For your winter pleasure, I have added a few more really good videos, from the 2001 US Nationals, a short bit of 15 minutes from the 2001 US Class Nationals at Byron Dragway, and have been working on another to come soon from 2005 US Nationals.
The 2001 Indy race was pretty good considering I was running my car and my Crew man Dave was filming lots of it, before I able to resume the remainder, after R2 of class. It was only a few days before 9-11, and was a pretty awesome race. The USCN was pretty foul weather wise, and the track was very hard to get a hold of with the rubber changing into a gooey glob of moving rubber. So hot and only the best setup cars got a hold of it. Use the link to my top channel, and select the films you want to see. Its easier for you to see what sections you want to see. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7I...rukDY5g/videos I didn't mention these SS/A stick cars, which I have films of from other years. Joe Faherty, Matt Hensley, and a few more. Its interesting understanding how to run a clutch in those cars, and I think a must read was the old magazine article Dan Bennett wrote in the late 90s or so on how a modern Pro Stock clutch is operated. One of the most thought provoking articles written on driving into the clutch, which is the winners way in all those big HP SS cars, like the A B C cars. I still haven't figured out how one loads more than a 15 minute chunk of film at a time, and if its possible? Youtube trims the films at times and sometimes when I don't want it to, so sorry for the splits, its the way it is. Don |

I'd like to see Charlie bring out the War Fish to race in AH/SM for Competition Eliminator.

As for stick cars the Lee Bros Cuda from Alberta was a stick even back in the 90's. They were fast but probably didn't travel that far.

Either AH/SM or SS/AH; I would just like to see Charlie racing again.
