Default RIP George Thomson

My Mentor and Dear Friend George Thomson
passed this morning from Complications of Covid 19.

He was a man of strong Christian Faith and I fondly remember
worshiping next to his and his wonderful wife Barbara at RFC Services.

He owned Carburetor Flow Engineering and Thomson Dyno. He was a prominent Stock Racer
since the 60's until a few year back when he retired.

His Yellow Olds 442 was #1 or #2 Qualifier at the Winternationals a few years back.
Before that his 73 Black Mustang held the H/SA National Record for quite a while.

It seems just Yesterday that I was his best man at his wedding here in Boulder City but
I guess it really is more like 25 year ago.

He had called me Friday to tell me he was back in the Hospital = He sounded very good.
Only thing that concerned me was his statement = " I hope I don't die in the Hospital this year".

So sad, George was always super nice. I really respected his ability to build top qualifying cars.

I was in Vegas with the Denysenko team about 9 years ago...George was there with the Olds and we chatted about his former Mustang Stocker when I mentioned that MoneyMaker Racing was helping me with my project. Sadly we never crossed paths again. Hard to believe how quickly this virus can destroy a life.

RIP Mr. Thomson.
