Default No Class @ NED Sports "WHY" ?

First let's say thank you NHRA for granting the northeast a Sportsnational somthing we've all been wanting for years. I and a LARGE GROUP of local stock snd superstock racers are shocked with NHRA's decision to not have class. Basically you're giving us a Open or another divisional. We class racer's believe we race in a performance based class and a Sportsnationals gives us a venue to show of are hard work thru class eliminations . This race could and should be a way NHRA
show's its commitment to the sportsmen racer . Let's not set this opportunity slip by. Without class in my opinion your setting this race up to fail. Please reconsider your decision......

I totally agree with you Marc,
why pay extra money for a sportsnational if we can't run class

OK gotta say thanks to our D1 director Dave Mohon for clarification of the why were not having class at the Sportsnationals. I gotta say after we talked I totally get it like alot of things in life we may not like it but it's life . Bottom line it's a tough year for all so let's just enjoy what we have and be thankful . I know it's not much of a explanation but we've got another race so let's support it.

Really wish they could add another day and class to this event. NED's national event has been lost this year, and that is a shame. At least there is a race added, but class sure would be nice.

Let's just say this race happend with alot of work and help from NED and the D1 crew trying to get us another NHRA race and class just isn't in the picture. This year has brought on many challenges personally and financially ! ! Let's be grateful for what we have this year !

Marc, although I and many other racers agree on your point of view, I believe the driving force for the SN in Epping had more to do with giving D1 racers an opportunity to race for National Event Payouts and Points. I'm sure this is what Dave most likely explained. For those racers wanting to race for those reasons, this will allow them to have the opportunity to do so within the division. IMHO

So are we to sign up for this race as a national or divisional race?

Every Sportsnationals should have Class Eliminations!!! Being an abbreviated year, there should be no AHFS in effect or the 1.20 rule. We have been pinned up for 6 or more months, let us enjoy the time we have left to race and let the cars & drivers turn'em loose, you'll see better racing.
