Covers for your trailer or Motorhome or not?

I've been giving thought to purchasing a cover for my Motorhome and enclosed trailer. We get lots of snow and severe cold here with occasional high winds. My concerns are possible damage to the finish from the cover. I park and store the coach and trailer adjacent to trees which help break the wind but that also comes with its own set of problems due to sap etc. Does anyone have experience with this they can share?
