Default Florida Campground

Does anyone know of a clean, quiet and reasonable campground in the Sarasota Florida area, or say 50 mile radius? We would like to tow down from Ohio and visit my brother who is in poor health.... probably in February or March? Thanks

There is a state park with a camp ground in it about 5 miles from Bradenton Motorsports park. Any state park would offer the best rates, only issue is I dont think you can stay more than 2 weeks at a time.

here is a list of several others as well..

Your travel trailer shouldn't present any obstacles like a big race rig would. Of course there is a snowbird alert for anyplace in Florida this time of year and reservations may be tricky but Myakka River State Park sounds like what you want. Go to the Florida State Parks website and check for spots, you may have to move around the campground in order to find openings but people make more reservations than they typically need so watch for cancellations that create openings. If your brother is a FL resident he can assist checking you into the park for a reduced price. I've stayed at numerous FL parks and highly recommend them despite the effort to make reservations. Sun N Fun RV Resort gets good reviews but will be pricey and not as quiet but can't say anything about the place personally.
