Default golf cart insurance ?

I was told that you are suppose to have insurance on your golf carts at NHRA division & national events. Is this fact or fiction? never heard that before, but could see it being required with all the stupid stuff that goes on at the race track pits, especially at night.just wanted to get ready for next year if that is true.

i'm not positive on this , but at nationals I think the insurance you purchase with your entry covers your pit vehicle , they include a pass with your credentials.
at div 1 races we have to register our pit vechicles , you can purchase insurance at that time thru nhra, or provide proof of your own coverage,

yeah, it could be a div 1 thing. maybe we east coast guys just donate our hard earned $.
One bad accident happened at the bracket finals one year, guys clowning around one guy got hurt real bad, even tried to sue nhra, the track, and the driver. He and the golf cart driver still run around on their carts fast as they can go, cost us all a lot of $ but they don't seem to give a crap!
Oh btw. that guy is on disability now, does not work, and drives an 8 sec car....

they were within 20 bucks, and it was easier just to get it at track. at least in div 1 you can go to any nhra sanctioned track and fill out form, give them 50. and you are done...

Talking Re: golf cart insurance ?

Went outside NHRA to Progressive, same money but double the coverage and good anywhere not just at the track.

Your spot on Keith. I was @ brackets that yr when it happened. A lot of alcohol and 2 jackasses on a golf cart cost everyone more money shaking my head!

Yep I got mine through Progressive the NHRA Div. 5 also adds $10, if you race at their races.

Foremost insurance, $102 per year. It is worth it if you hit some race car in the pits it would cover the damage.
