A Camaro enthusiast by the name of Rich Pern has bought the 'Tin Soldier' and is going to test it at No Problem, according to a bonifide source.
I've never met Rich but have engaged him on several Camaro forums, seems to be a really good guy and is passionate about old Camaros. The car has been restored to resemble how it was raced back in the day. Anybody remember this car? Here is the thread with pertinent info within at Team Camaro- http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=217460

Yes!!!!! Owned & operated by Ron Terrel and was campaigned locally when we had class runs at each race every week. I raced against Ron many times at Edgewater and Tri-State. Ron wasn't one to brag and never mentioned that his car was a real COPO. His car was always very tough to beat and had excellent preparation. Bob Michael.

Bob,
I was curious if the car belonged to Ron since he runs a mid 80's Camaro with the same name. If anyone has contact info for Ron please post it here or send me a PM so I can relay it to a friend of the new owner, I'm sure Rich Pern would like to talk to him about the car.

It is sooo cool to see the 'Tin Soldier' '69 Camaro again. I watched Ron make many, many runs at Edgewater, Tri-State and Kil-Kare with it.
Ron's current Camaro is also named 'Tin Soldier.' The lettering style is very similar to the '69 car, which I also think is cool!! Ron is just a great racer, plain and simple. And he can tell racing stories with the best of them....lol! Don Whitmore |

I was lucky enought to get to race against the "Tin Soldier" camaro when Ron was racing it in SS/EA. I was running my candy Apple red 67 Corvette we built. We enjoyed the class competition back then. We had as many as 8 class cars in any nationals where we raced.
Ron is a "class" racer...Very Fast 85 Camaro... (We built it in our Richmond Performance Center) |

His car had the most amazing amount of detail I have ever seen on the wiring and routing of his fuel injection system, ignition, and other wiring. I simply couldn't believe how much time it must have taken and asked him if he minded me taking pics. |

He was very pleased that I showed that much interest and he is quite the innovator. He showed me how to spot NOS lines on a FE.
