Looking to running the NMCA event this weekend in Pomona. Anyone ever run an NMCA event? If so, what class do you thing would be best for a F/SA 68 Camaro 350/290hp.
I was leaning towards Open Comp or second choice Nostalgia street car, but does anyone have any insights that could help me decide? My car is not licensed or insured, so true street is out. |

They had one at Fontana last year. It was a good event that ran well and paid well. We all ran their bracket classes. At Pomona there is no bracket racing. All of their classes have a "qualified field". Check out the class rules and pick what you like. Read it carefully.
http://www.nmcadigital.com/rules_purses/nmca_west/ You must join the association to collect any purse money. FYI...........NHRA is cheaper and has a better purse. Never thought I would say that............. Last edited by 7423; 08-15-2012 at 05:19 PM. |

I just ran my first NMCA race less than 2 weeks ago with my Pure Stocker @ Bowling Green..
I entered the the EFI Rumble class and picked the 14.50 index. Normally a person needs to be a member to run that class but I got a one-race waiver on the membership from "Trey" at the NMCA. The lady at the NMCA tent then gave me a 5 digit car number (required)and all the letters and number decals for free ! How nice of them. ![]() That '68 Camaro could run the Nostalgia Muscle car class. It is an index based race spaced every .5 seconds apart. It is a .500 full tree start and transbrakes are not allowed. (perfect for Stockers) Not sure about 2 steps tho. ![]()
