A question here. NHRA is pretty straightforward, beings there is only one class of stock. IHRA is another matter.
If you get a stock competion number, is it good for any of the classes? Can I transfer the number from my Achieva (EF/SA) to the Firebird (Crate Motor) at a later date? Or is the number given for the seperate classes. Don't know if I'm going to get a number or not but I'm toying with the idea.

Number goes with the driver/eliminator. Not the individual class.
My old number, 1302, I would have used in Stock Eliminator, no matter what Class (Stock, Stock GT/ CM/Stock, Pure/Stk, FWD/Stock, etc) of car I had. Same with Super Stock. Number goes with driver/Eliminator, regardless of S/S Class, (S/S, SS/GT, SS/Mod, etc). You will, however, need seperate numbers for other Eliminators. Sometimes you can have the same number, whether Stk, S/S, S/C, S/G, etc, if they are still available.

I think IHRA & NHRA use the same system. Your stock elim. # is your # .
The # is assign to you not the car. You can use it on any stk.elim. car you drive. Remember if you barrow somebody car and it is found bogus its you butt not the owner. that takes the heat. Hammer |

In IHRA I use my same number in H/R and in Top Sportsman. So yes you can use the number in another class only if someone else does not already have it.
But if you are just moving from to a different class but staying in stock it is your number to put on any car you drive in stock.

Thanks guys. That clears it up for me. This way I can apply for a competition #, use it on my FWD car. Later if I ever get my crate car finished, I will already have a #.
Being from Indiana, whom do I contact? Is this still considered Division 5 or is Indiana in a different Division now?
