After taking a 2 year break and then attending these first 2 races of the season, I must say that LODRS races in Div 2 are enjoyable again.
I'm not pointing fingers (actually I am), but it struck me how the tech officials seemed much more relaxed and racer friendly. These are the same people that were there before, but under a previous DD. I also noticed that there did not seem to be a rush to get cars down the track too early in the day or too soon after being affected by weather conditions, with the implied thought that the officials were in a hurry because they had something better to do. I even had the experience of being teched by the new female tech person (sorry I dont know her name) and even in raising a disagreement with her over a safety item that I was pretty certain wasn't required for my car the way it is set up, the discussion was calm and pleasant, and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Thanks Rich for overseeing the 2 most enjoyable weekends I've had in a long time. Div 2 racing is fun again! Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. ![]() RIP Mark Graham & WB Hutto

I won't be working tech at Gators officially...but may be around at least one day to help and observe since I am on the Safety Safari crew that event, and budget may not allow for me to work tech as well. I don't imagine I will be able to sit around for 3 days at Gainesville after SGMP without doing something constructive! |

Karen, you are doing a fine job. I have been around this for a long time and even done some tech work myself, you do a great job and have a super attitude. You are knowlegeable and firm yet not overbearing. You are a refreshing addition to the NHRA D-2 group. You. J.T., Harry, Jim and the crew worked like a finely tuned HEMI this past weekend! Looking forward to Valdosta. Jim

Agreed. Seems like splitting up tech to do all the signing stuff first made things go a little faster while the cars were being checked over. Granted I was there early Friday, but the revised schedules were usually up on Facebook and DRR to keep us up to date (and we appreciate it)!
