Well....in my opinion just because it's fast, doesn't make it a s/g car! Having stock suspension alone makes it a better s/st car. A little more info about the car would help us a lot on getting you close on your setup.

I didn't say it was a S/G car, I said it was a S/G question!!!!

Running that ET, he would get better info from those guys. But that's just my opinion............

Besides it's winter and somebody has to stir the pot.

You will want the minimum up travel that will allow the car to hook ( and allow the car to handle properly) which should minimize (lower) your reaction time.
Cruse RPM I would suggest that you start expermenting around 4500 or so. Turn the stop on as early as possible and shift while on the stop.

(p.s I like your screen name! .......kinda cool)

My .02 for whats its worth...there are a few guys on here that have cars that fast that run in SST and its not an easy task..

First you need to limit the front enough to but a light on the .500 pro tree...most limit there to about 2-3 inches of upward travel at most...each car will be diff but with a stock suspension you dont want 5-6 inches, more than likely that will prevent you from cutting a decent light..

For cruise RPM, 4000-4100 might be best, as any more than that will put you on the stop for way too much time...most with 8 sec cars are on the stop for 4 seconds or so, and the higher the RPM the more time on the stop...

Shift on time if you can, as that will help with convertor creep...

If you are injected you can play a different game, let us know if you are carb'd or injected...

Go to Biondo's web site and there is some good info about TS ratios' etc...

I agree with just about everything here.

I run a S/ST car that runs about 2.5 secs under the index. The hardest part is finding a happy medium your car likes. Get the stop on and into high gear as fast as you can, and start with about 4000 rpm. You may find that your carb won't like the cruise rpm that low, so start working it up from there until it finds a happy spot. Try not to let the stop stay on for much more than 4.2-4.3 sec. I found that the rpm started to climb rapidly after that.
There are several other fast s/st guys on here that I'm sure will chime in here to offer some help.

Good Luck!
