Default A Southland DragPak Weekend

I know there's already multiple threads congratulating Jeff Teuton on his big win at Indy, but I wanted to extend a special congrats as well as a big thank you to Jeff, Scott Helms, and everyone at Southland Speed. Jeff and Scott were invaluable to me in locating parts for our 5.9L DragPak Super Stock project and in advice for a complete EFI newbie. (You can find their sponsor ad for this forum on the classracer.com homepage... just sayin')

We got the car "right" two weeks ago, and it has been a ticket-printing machine since, culminating with a Super Stock win from the rain-delayed Rockingham Pro-Am on Saturday, and then a runner-up in the first Darlington Pro-Am later that night. I hated this car for two months, but I think we've fallen back in love at long last.

There's been a massive amount of help from a huge number of people on the Volare over the years, and particularly recently. To get my first Super Stock win in my own car is really special. (Footbrake, 9" tire makes it even cooler, IMO) At the risk of leaving someone out (and boring everyone else), it's important to me to publicly say THANK YOU to Duck Tape and the whole ShurTech Brands line, Jeff Teuton and Scott Helms at Southland Speed, Tim Sloan at Sloan Racing Engines, Alex Denysenko at MoneyMaker Racing, Calvert Racing, Mickey Thompson, Abruzzi Racing Transmissions and Converters, Mike Bradley at Bradley Auto Parts, Bearden Oil/Sunoco Race Fuels, K&N Filters, CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Jim Bailey's FINISHED Ultimate Performance Metal Finishing, Ross Pistons, Scott Macy, Billy Nees Race Cars, my dad Stephen Beard, Ed Wright, Matt Zapp, Terry Knott, Jeff & Zac Ross, Johnny Fisher, Adger Smith, Bob & Craig Marshall, Danny Waters (I & II), Moser Engineering and the rest of the contingency sponsors, and shoot, even Chip Johnson, Randy Larson, and YOU while we're at it. Again, sorry to bore everyone with all that, but the "new car blues" made me feel like a rookie all over again, and I wanted to give credit to all those who have helped me get over that hump and take the next step in my racing career.

I'm glad to see everything is on the right track Mike. I can't wait to see the new combo run. Jim

Glad to see the demon's have been exorcised! (No pun intended, I know it's a Volare).

Congratulations on your victory over the weekend!

Hell Michael, now I gotta look at some of the cars Jeff has when I go to get a new truck next week. Seems like everyone is getting a DP, I may as well jump in too.
