Thank you Caltracs
As many of you have experienced, the thrill of winning a race can be partially soured over the next few months by contingency sponsors who will do every last thing they can do to avoid paying you despite the general agreement we have all entered into. That agreement is as simple as follows: you advertise their product and if you make the final they pay you.
Too many manufacturers are making a habit / business practice out of leveraging your free advertising and then finding every weasily (sp?) way they can to get out of paying you the money that you deserve. Many of us (including me) will not make a final round more than once every few years at best. Speaking from experience, it is incredibly frustrating to FINALLY get there and then have these manufacturers do everything they can to avoid paying you the contingency money you so rightfully deserve.
The purpose of this post is to acknowledge Calvert racing. They stand behind their product and they were the FIRST contingency sponsor to pay me for my Spokane win. I proudly use Calvert products, they work, and they support racers. We need more contingency sponsors like Calvert.
Regards,
Gary Waldo
