Default Jeff Sobczynski and Jon Jablonski win again at Skyview Drags

TNTSS has winners in both HR and SR!

The Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series continues to produce some of the best sportsman drag racing talent in North America and it showed this past weekend at the Skyview Drags IHRA Pro Am in Tioga Center, NY. Not one, but two TNTSS regulars took home an Ironman - Jeff Sobczynski of Depew, NY won in Hot Rod and Jon Jablonski of West Seneca, NY took the Super Rod win - both for the second consecutive year.

In the Hot Rod final, Jeff faced 2008 TNTSS champion Ted Barnes. A slight starting line advantage and Jeff was able to take the win at the stripe, running almost dead-on with a 7.008 to Barnes' too fast 6.993.

For Jeff, it was no easy task getting to the final – having to deal with the likes of Mark Proulx, Bill Elekes and Harry Phelps along the way.

"I need to thank my wife Melissa. She gave birth to our first child in May and she still let me go racing," said Jeff in the Skyview winner's circle. "I also need to thank my father Pete for all of his help and advice. He has taught me everything from turning a wrench to driving the finish line."

Jeff speaks very highly of his time running the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series. "I know I said it last year, but we race against some of the best in the TNTSS and there really is no difference from a divisional level to our local level. I can't say enough about it!"

Jeff was quick to thank Mike Sr and Mike Jr at Jan Cen Motorsports, Patrick James from Pro Systems Carburetors along with Carl Ettipio and Brian Hitchcock from Competition Transmission for giving him the right equipment to get his 1967 Camaro to the winner's circle.

That Camaro started out life with a 250 six cylinder and three on the tree is now capable of 9.40’s at 140mph. "My father got it in a trade for an AM radio in 1973. It now has a 402 small block, S&W 4 link, Smith Racecraft Chrome Moly front half and full cage - all of the work done by my father and I," Jeff added.

In the Super Rod final, Jon Jablonski took on Jon Pellicane. A red light start for Pellicane gave the automatic win the Jablonski who battled through former Division One Super Rod champ Bill Nuzzo and Tommy Allen on his way to the money round.

"I have to thank Jason Vitez, Dennis O'Brien, my mother Halina and my girlfriend Nicole for all their help," said Jon. "And everyone at Jason Vitez Race Cars and JRO-Design.com. They do great work!"

Jon also gives a lot of credit to the TNTSS. “I run every one of the TNTSS races. The competition is tough and that’s what I need to keep me sharp.”

His 1967 Nova has a Jan Cen Motorsports 538 cid big block Chevy with Competition Transmission powerglide, ATI converter, Hoosier tires and a Jason Vitez race cars built chassis.
