That's the way it usually is when the tower doesn't know about the break. The gentlemanly thing to do is alert the tower that you won't be making the call, and they will remove you from the ladder. Not many people do this, however.

First round winners:
Pancake 8.62, Daniels 8.59, Kent 8.79, Hebert 8.59, Perkins 8.55, Raines 8.60, Wolkwitz 8.50, W Howes 24 seconds (M Howes went red, W Howes broke), Barton 8.53, Hard 8.53. Westcotts were both no-shows (broke, i heard) and not even shown on the ladder.
