It’s Super Comp at “The Grove” in July!
June 29th, 2010: The Competition Photos Super Comp Association will run its 3rd and 4th race of the 2010 season at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa on July 10thth & 11th. Race #1 winner Marty Jones will carry a small point’s lead into Maple Grove over Joey Cambria and Jeff Livezy Jr. On Saturday the gates open at 8am with time runs beginning at 9am and on Sunday the gates open at 9am with time runs beginning at 10am. For anyone traveling a long distance the gates will be open on Friday Night in case you want to park early. The field is open to all 8.90 NHRA Legal Super Comp Cars and after your 2 qualifying run each day the fields will be set on a NHRA Sportsman ladder and the higher qualified car gets lane choice for the 1st round only. We will be running on the Real Divisional .370 Christmas Tree that weekend. The entry fee is $35.00 at the gate plus $65.00 Dollars paid to Tom Boyle. The payout is based on a 32 car all run field with the winner getting $1,000.00. On Saturday Jeff Stricker of VP Fuels has stepped up to sponsor Race #1 and on Sunday Bob Phillips from ACD Throttle Stops will sponsor race #2. Remember you do not have to be a member to run the race, just show up! On Saturday the gates open at 8am with time runs beginning at 9am and on Sunday the gates open at 9am with time runs beginning at 10am. After racing is complete on Saturday all racers are invited over to Uncle Buck’s and the Donhausers for a free BBQ. R&J Control will continue to sponsor the #1 qualifier at Maple Grove and the winner will receive $ 25.00 for the closest to running 9.900 in qualifying. The Best Package Bonus will be sponsored by “Rockaway Racing” and the car having the best overall package in eliminations will receive $ 50.00. Gates will open at 8am and Time Trials will start at 9am on Sunday now. So anyone who was planning on rolling in on Sunday get there early!!
