Don't have his contact info, but that's Lindell Hilling. The car is *gorgeous*. Everybody at the track was talking about it. He's actually had it and raced it for a long time. I think he had a stick in it many years ago -- the only crate motor car I've seen with one. Used to run I or J/CM, but moved to G/CM with a new combo this year. I think he said it was the first weekend out on it. As you can tell from the pic, it worked really nice!

Not being very familiar with the "crate" classes, what motor would it most likely be running? And, if it is a stick car, would it be a 3 or a 4 speed?

If he's in G/CM I'd say it's a "fast burn" 350 & it would be a 4-speed car....I have seen the car in the past & it's NICE!!! His brother has a G/CM 68 Camaro that is top notch ( it ran & held record for many years as a G/SA car in IHRA)

Since we're alI guessing at this I suspect the car now has a 350 330hp factored at 340. This would put the car at a minimum weight of 3230 in G/CM. I think he previously ran the 350 300/305hp with an auto in J/CM.
His brother Phil Hilling has the 68 Camaro and currently runs C/CM with the fast burn 350 385/395 combo. Both cars are show quality and fast. Too bad Phil or Lindell don't lurk on here as they could straighten us all out. I think Lindell still lives in Illinois. Phil resides in Kinston NC. |

The picture was at Piedmont Dragway IHRA div this past weekend. It is an automatic now.Looks like a show car all the time. Yes i think he did set the record. The old record was a 6.85 and he went a 6.76 so he did go fast enough.
