Unhappy Clearing the air regarding tough night thread

I recieved an unsigned letter today from the Texas area. I dont have a way to scan it but I will tell you word for word what it said "Mr. Gomez, I read your post on class racer about your stolen car. I have to say that I was offended that you would ask people to help you build another car. It is not our fault that you had your crap stolen and I as well as many other racers on the site could care less. We all work hard to build and maintain our stuff and here you come along wanting us to give you our hard earned parts and money. If you got any money I think you should send it back and just forget about racing. You are exactly what is wrong with the world today. Another loser wanting a handout. Just delete your post and your profile and move on because if you do ever make it to the track, I as others will make sure to make your life and short racing career a living hell.
Yours Truly
A Real Racer"

As some of you can see this was very hurtful. I wish the person writing it had enough nerve to tell me his real name or give me contact information so we could discuss this. I went back and read my post and I can't find anywhere that I asked for donations of parts or money. Mack Reeves suggested it. If I have offended any of you in any way please tell me. It was not, nor is it now my intent to offend anyone. If you are requesting me to take down my post I will do that also. I was only trying to help the kids involved in this project. This is not a benefit to me. Again I am sorry If I came across wrong or was out of line posting what I did.

Sincerely
Floyd Gomez

This guy calls himself "A Real Racer". I know a lot of "Real Racers" and this guy is no "Real racer"! Real Racers are a family. They may spat once in a while but they also come to the aid of other racers. This guy is no "Real Racer". Jim

gentleman and ladies, what we have here is a first class loser and a real jack@$s.

maybe just maybe this is the guy or group that steals the rigs and takes them south of the border.

Floyd,

You certainly didn't ask for anything and you have no reason to either apologize or reword/erase your original post.

I would contact the police, kinda sounds like the writer is making a threat of sorts. A motivated cop could possibly find out who the writer is.

At any rate, people who don't sign their letters or use their name in correspondence or even in forums like this are cowards and aren't worth even a passing thought.

Floyd, If I were you, I would delete the "Real Racer's" message and carry on working with the kids.....as I see it you did or said nothing to deserve crap like this.

If this idiot did ever show up at the races and gave you a hard time, and I doubt he ever will, I'm sure your racer friends would back you...

Floyd,

This turd is not a "real racer"; real racers come to your pit to help you make the next round even means loaning you parts off their cars just so you can continue to compete...those are real racers!

Real racers are real people who reach out to those in need.

Well, Floyd, I read your posts clearly and you never asked for a "handout" it was the reason and the participants involved made us all (who responded with our offers of help) OFFER, none was asked.

I would say the person who wrote it is unhappy with their own situation, or one that trys to elevate themselves by making others feel lesser, the world is full of them.

Pay no mind, Mack offered, and Mack I can tell you from experience is a very hell of a nice guy with a solid head on his shoulders.Others offered, and well ante up regardless of what the joker from Texas says.

I saw no begging, I saw no moaning to have someone offer, (trust me my Ex wife is STILL king at that people give her money just to shut her up)

I saw nothing but good intentions and a fellow trying to do something positive who took a hit , and I saw offers from others to help him.

If the car had been a personal venture with no others in mind, well maybe the offers for help would have been different.

But I can say what bothered me most was something like this can jad a kid forever, or a long time. BUT the support to restore it to a right place can return that loss and their faith in their fellow mans intents. Thats why me and my Dad offered. After Mack had said to bring some donations together.

If you are still interested in that Monte let me know. I can get it a hair cheaper ($800) as I told my Cousin what the use was for. He was tickled someone could use it. But well still put (me and the old man) our share in so.....If you found another project that fits the needs better thats fine too and were still game as well.

Ignore him.....an obviously bitter and unhappy person, hell who knows maybe the thief or related to the thief with such complete stupidity as that.
