Need a little help for anyone with Dominator tuning experance... I have a 468 BBC LS-6 rec port heads, 12:1 comp, .722 lift 265 @ .050, Team G intake, 2 1/8 header 3.5 exhaust with 2 chamb flowmasters..
I have a freebie 2 circuit dominator 1050 very old #6605. It very responsive on the primary (it has a 6.5 pv with 82 jets) secondary has 92 jets with 35 squirter. The primary was lazy and hesitant due to too low pv of 3.5. The change to 6.5 cleaned the primary up good along with 25 to 32 squirter nozzel. I now have the "dead spot" when the secondary starts to open. I am going to change squirt nozzel to 42. Also thinking of changing to 1:1 linkage. It seems like the secondarys take way too much throttle before they open. Any ideas?? timing is @ 35. The flat spot is like the motor is cold just at a higher rpm then off idle |

I would check the play on the secondary squirter arm. If that has to much play it can cause a dead spot. The arm should have about .015 clearance.
Good luck. |

Good luck.[/QUOTE] The .015" is the desired free play of the accelerator pump arm when the throttle linkage is @ WOT. You don't want the pump to bottom out! Adjust the linkage and/or cam to activate immediately on secondary opening, leaving free play @ the end of travel. Last edited by bknthda; 12-01-2009 at 01:56 PM. Reason: to clarify statement |
