Can anyone tell me if it would be consider "class legal" to run an L99 (265 cubic inche) V8 in a later model as a stick shift car. Or must this engine be run as an automatic only. Was wondering if it could be run in a Camaro with a stick and still run SS/GT, or would it have to run as a turbo trans car only. Thanks Myron Stutes

IHRA yes. But NHRA I don't think so. Ran into this a couple years ago with the 85 Mustang 302. It was a stick only. Long story but IHRA changed the rule book to read any trans ( auto or stick) .
